Our last shabbos of TJJ was absolutely amazing.  We brought in shabbos with song and dance at the Kotel with thousands of other Jews.  We then ate a delicious meal at the Sfardi center.  Today we ate lunch with 2 other TJJ buses, learned about the story of Mirkaz HaRav, and had a wonderful ebbing. We are now getting ready for our end of the summer banquet.  Everyone is starting to get emotional because they are all so sad to leave. Let me know if you need anything!

Our last Friday was packed.  We started off the day visiting our forefathers and foremothers in Chevron.  We then saw the sound and light show of Gush Etzion.  After we ate a delicious lunch of make-your-own-burgers we went to Mickey’s (our security gaurd) house for some watermelon.  We then had free time in Machane Yehudah, the Israeli shuk.  We are all super pumped and excited to spend our last Friday night at the kotel praying with thousands of Jews. Today was awesome! We started off our day driving down south from Tzfat.  We went to ammunition hill and learnt all about the war changing battle that happened there in 1967.  We then went to the beautiful viewpoint on top of Mount Scopus.  After that it was time to buy presents for the family so we stopped off at Ben Yehuda street and went to Malcha Mall.  Tonight, and for the rest of the trip, we will be sleeping in Jerusalem. Today was incredible! We spent the morning in the famous Stam center in Tzfat learning how to write a Torah Scroll.  We then volunteered in an absorption center for Ethiopian kids ages 3-5.  After that we went to the famous chocolate factory where we got a tour, samples, and a chance to make our own homemade chocolate. Today was an easy day with an early start. We all woke up at 5:30am so we can do the beautiful Zavitan hike before it got too hot out. The hike ended in a majestic waterfall with a huge pool that we all swam in. We then went for lunch in a local mall and watched the video on exactly how the Golan (northern Israel) was created. We are now back in Tzfat on the way to the artists colony. Let me know if you need anything!

Everyone had a blast today! We started off the day doing an unbelieveable hike called Nachal Bezet.  After that we went to a magnificent natural cave, Ma’arat Keshet where we learned about the missing soldiers of Israel. For lunch we had an all you can eat pizza buffet.  We all ate like kings, and traveled to Rosh Hanikra, beautiful water caves on the west border of Lebanon. Let me know if you need anything!

Today was one of the most exciting days of the trip!  We started off the day at Misgav Am with a tour and an explanation of the Israel-Lebanon border.  We then went white water rafting on the Jordan river.  We ate a delicious shnitzel lunch and went to the chazbani river hike.  Everyone had fantastic moments soaking in nature.  Before we went for dinner in Tiberias we stopped at Naot Mordechai to do some shopping for the famous Israel made shoes.  We finished off our night with a party boat on the kinneret. We just spent an amazingly awesome shabbos in tzfat.  For Friday night prayer we went to a local synagogue and joined in the spiritual song and dance as we welcomed in the Sabbath.  We then heard from our scholar in residence Rabbi Menachem Nissel.  The next day some people went for a walk around the ancient city of tzfat.  We ended off the Shabbat with another talk from Rav Nissel with an incredible view of the sunset over the Meron mountains.  Tonight we went out for some pizza and ice cream.  Everyone says hello! Today was a stupendous day! We started off the day bike riding around Har Gilboa.  After that we did an outstanding water hike called Nachal HaKibuttizn.  We are now in Tzfat and all getting ready for shabbos.  Everyone is super pumped. Today was a day completely devoted to water.  We started off with some team building exercises.  We broke into three teams and each team had to build a raft and race it around a buoy floating out on the kinneret.  We then ate lunch at the beautiful view point of Har Arbel.  After that we treaded through the delightful water hike Majdas.  Lastly, we ended off our day with a splendid swim in the kinneret.  We are now staying in Tzfat having a blast! Today was army day!!!!  We had ex-sergeants of the Israeli army come to the kibbutz today and we joined the army for the day.  We did basic training drills, and even took krav maga lessons.  After that we learnt how to work as a team, and even accomplished a mission together.  As a special treat we all went to the Tiberias boardwalk to chill out. Today was a super exciting day.  We started off our day leaving the center of Israel and journeying towards the north.  We visited the famous city of Zichron Yaakov where we learned about its history.  We also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stechler, two people who are greatly involved in making TJJ happen. After that we did one of the most beautiful hikes in all of Israel, the famous Jilaboon!  We are now staying up north and we will be here all week! Let me know if you need anything!

Today was a very easy and relaxing day.  We all met up again after an amazing free shabbos where most of us spent the weekend with close friends or families.  We then crawled through the amazing Bar Kochba caves were Bar Kochba led his revolt against the Romans. Shortly we will be making our way to Yom NCSY, NCSY’s premiere gala event.  We will be gathering all 2,000 teenagers from all over our NCSY summer programs to have an all you can eat buffet, followed by an incredible concert. Today we decided to give a little back to the land of Israel.  We have had fun for the past 10 days so we wanted to do a little charity.  We started off our day volunteering for Leket Yisrael.  Leket Yisrael is an amazing organization that gets fields donated and then have volunteers pick the produce from that field.  Everything that is picked is donated to poor people around Israel.  The amount of tomatoes we picked will be able to feed over 700 families. Today was an awesome day.  We woke up early this morning to do camel riding.  We then followed that with some rappelling in the Rimon Crater.  After that we did a small nature hike in Ein Ovdat.  We are now in Eilat where we will be staying for the next few days and hanging out on the board walk tonight.

Today was an amazing day! We started off the day hiking in Ein Gedi.  We learned all about the area in relation to King David.  We then floated in the Dead Sea.  After that we ended off our day taking the tour of the lovely Masada.  Tonight we are sleeping in the Bedouin tents where everyone is having an amazing time. We just finished our first Shabbat on TJJ.  It was an absolutely incredible experience for everyone.  We spent Friday night praying with the birthright group that was staying on the same kibbutz as us.  We then had a wonderful Friday night Shabbat meal.  We all sang and partied together later that night at a TJJ tisch.  Today we had a wonderful Shabbat lunch followed by relaxing time for us to rejuvenate for this coming weeks activities.  Tonight we are having a bonfire. Today was amazing! We woke up early to beat the heat while hiking the majestic Nachol Og hike.  After that we went to a very relaxing natural spring, and ate a delicious lunch there (don’t worry we ate after we swam).  Now we are just getting ready to spend our first shabbos on TJJ together.  Everyone is super pumped! Our third day was a little bit more serious than the previous two.  We started off the day visiting Yad V’shem, the holocaust museum in Israel.  We took a journey back in time learning about the destruction in Europe in the 1940’s.  After that we went to Har Herzl, Israel’s military cemetery.  To lighten the mood we ended off the day at the Biblical Zoo.  Everyone is having a blast! We are close to finishing our first day of our trip and I wanted to tell you a little bit about it.  We started out this morning in the ancient City of David.  We then walked through the Hizkiyahu tunnel battling a strong, but refreshing current.  After that we visited the Kotel, Western Wall, and had a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem.
