We had an awesome day today at Michlelet NCSY!!!
Interestingly enough, our day was sandwiched by shiurim from 2 internationally renowned speakers, each having been either on the way to or coming from the airport! Our first was after davening and breakfast this morning, where we were lucky to hear some words of Torah from Rabbi Steven Burg, International Director of NCSY, who was on his way to the airport to spend shabbos with another amazing NCSY program. Our day continued with morning and afternoon classes, learning groups, and activities. Later this afternoon, we had the opportunity to perform a very special chesed in our neighboring community of Ramat Beit Shemesh. We traveled down the road and set out to paint an elementary school established exclusively for American children who have made aliyah. This surely hit close to home for many of us and we truly put our hearts into decorating and painting both the inside and outside of the temporary school buildings. Be sure to check out the latest pictures to see some of our creative and artistic talent here at Michlelet NCSY! Suffice it to say that we had just as much fun painting the buildings as we did painting each other
When we returned from our chesed trip we were treated to a shiur from another world renowned speaker of NCSY fame, Rabbi Menachem Nissel, who had just stepped off a plane himself! How lucky we are at Michlelet NCSY to catch all these amazing speakers at just the right time! The shiur was followed by a fun night activity called "Pass the Parcel" where we had tons of fun unwrapping layers and layers of challenges, treats, and lots of laughs.
We are all packed up and looking forward to our first free Shabbos, even though we will miss Michlelet tons!
Stay tuned for more next week!
