JAM-PACKED DAY!
What a crazy busy day on Michlelet!!
We woke up super early and headed off to our diffeent tiyul (trip) locations around the country. The shana alef (first year) girls headed south, and had a blast at the historical beauty of Masada, followed by the healing waters of the Dead Sea, and the fun waterfalls of the Ein Gedi water hike. The shana bet (second year) girls started off their day at Nachalat Binyamin in the Shomron region of Israel. They visited the Psagot Winery and learned about the rich history of this area in which they were to spend the day. Next, they went to Tel Shilo, which is the Bibical city of the Mishkan (Tabernacle) and helped out at the excavation site by uncovering artifacts from thousands of years ago. By the time we got back to our beautiful Michlelet campus, we were exhausted after a full day of hiking, swimming, learning, and fun!
But as soon as we got back, signs that read "No entering the dorms until further notice" greeted us, and we were told to go to the auditorium to find out what was going on. We found out that a supposed epidemic of bedbugs had spread through the camp. We were handed cream to prevent bites and a sniffing dog came to check for lingering bedbug infestations. After a few minutes of confusion and hysteria, COLOR WAR BROKE OUT!!
Two days of friendly competition will follow as orange, the fire team, battles blue, the water team, to win the pride in being crowned the color war victors! Stay tuned for pictures and updates!
