After months of preparation it was incredible to welcome everyone to Israel and the NCSY Summer Kollel 2011. What a thrill to see over 170 NCSYers (plus a large staff) streaming into the arrivals hall from such varied locations and backgrounds. There were plenty of familiar faces along with newcomers to the NCSY Kollel family, and it was clear from the first glimpse that the quality of the group would translate into an unforgettable summer.
After checking in to Beit Meir, we went up to Yerushalayim, to the rooftop of Yeshivat HaKotel and to the Kotel itself for Maariv. It was the first of what will surely be long list of memorable and uplifting experiences, and the only possible way to kick off the summer.
