The annual 3 on 3 basketball Tournament is always one of the sports highlights of the summer. This year’s edition was especially awesome. Sixty-seven teams were competing on 8 courts in a single elimination tournament over the course of Monday afternoon’s sports break.

There were two brackets and competitions, one for advanced competitors and one for beginners. Over the past few year’s we have added an entire courtside festival to the proceedings, and it was with great excitement that we welcomed so many of the Rabbeim’s families, alumni, and friends to enjoy. In addition to the games themselves, there was cotton candy, popcorn, and slushies to keep people satiated.

There was a wiffle ball hone run derby to keep NCSYers entertained between games. And of course, there were the great games themselves. Nothing is as intense in Kollel sports as the 3 on 3 tourney.

And the fun wasn’t done yet. As the sun became to set we continued what it fast becoming another outstanding NCSY Kollel tradition. It was a massive dodgeball game pitting the entire staff against all the NCSYers. Well over 200 people packed the courts for a spirited and hotly contested match. There were plenty of ups and downs, including a half-court shot from our own cameraman, Josh Weinberg, and after no small amount of controversy, in the end the NCSYers earned a narrow victory.
