Welcome!

After spending an amazing shabbat in Staten Island getting to know eachother, Sunday afternoon we hopped on a plane to Poland where we just settled in for the night at our lovely hotel in Warsaw. Our action packed day started off the minute we left the airport. Our first stop was to one of the only Jewish cemeterays left in Poland where we saw many famous grave sites like the Netziv, Adam Czerniakow, and the memorial site of Janusz Korczak. The entire group divided the entire book of Tehillim and said their assigned perakim at a mass grave site within the cemetary. Even though we were all very jet lagged we pushed through the day and continued on to see one of the only shuls still standing in Warsaw. We then went onto to see the Getto fighters memorial sculpture built by Nattan Rappaport, where we had an the unexpected privalage to hear from the only living Sobibor Sasha talk to us. We then went on to see the survivor memorial of where the commander of the ZOB, Mordechai Anielwicz died fighting at the organization's command centre on 18 Mila Street. We look forward to an difficult but yet amazing experience tomorrow.
