Our sincerest apologies for the delay in posting. We have been without internet access in Europe for several days now. Please enjoy the following pictures and recaps from the past week.

Sunday July 17th -- We were up at 5:00 AM on our travel day from Poland to Munich. The excitement was palpable as we left Poland to begin the next phase of our program, rebuilding the European Jewish world. After several flight delays we landed in Germany after nearly thirteen hours of travel. We toured Munich for several hours as we drove on the famous Audobond expressway and visited the local Jewish Community Center which housed one of the most beautiful modern synagogues in the world. Finally we drove to Pfunds, Austria where we met Am Echad. They are the Jewish outreach branch of the Ronald Lauder Foundation and our our partners in the camp that we are about to run. After a brief introduction and a late dinner we were shown our rooms. Exhausted we are all asleep in under half an hour.

Monday July 18th -- What a difference a night of sleep can make! Driving into the Alps at night we were complete unaware of the beauty of our location. Even the rain

could not dampen our excitement at the realization that our camp was side by side with the clouds and that, after the rain, there was a rainbow in our backyard. We enjoyed a day of orientation as we truly got to know our new Am Echad family and learned the backgrounds of the kids that will be arriving soon to be our campers/students.

Tuesday July 19th -- We spent the day on a walking tour seeing how breathtaking our surroundings are. Within a few hundred yards of our camp we have waterfalls, rapids and snow capped mountains. The remainder of the day was spent in our individual groups preparing, planning and decorating for the camp.

Wednesday July 20th - A day of final preparations until dinner time when the shouts echoed through the halls "They're here!" The campers had finally arrived and camp was underway. WIth much song, laughter and schtick we celebrated until bedtime where we said Shmah together in both Hebrew and German.

Thursday July 21st - The first JOLT presentation on the topic of Yitziat Mitzrayim / The Exodus as our first preparation group performed a hilarious skit followed by a life-size game of Jewish Shoots and ladders where the objective was to travel from Egypt to Israel.
