Together we cried. Though we all new what we would encounter at Majdonic there is no way to properly prepare for the psychological trauma of a preserved death camp.

Teens ran their fingers over the scratch marks etched in the stone and wood walls of the gas chambers and sobbed openly by heap of human ash. All that is left of a massacre that left 18,000 Jews dead in a two day period of particular horror.

“But we had each-other to cry on,” was the sentiment echoed repeatedly by the group in the evening program while discussing the days events.

Though the teens have been very forthcoming about sharing their emotions and feelings all parents are encouraged to check in on their children today as they have without doubt experienced a very difficult event to process.
