Shabbat in the Great Synagogue
What an incredible Shabbat! We got to the hotel last night and were greeted with a Shabbat treat: it was the nicest hotel we've ever seen! But that wasn't it...we davened kabbalat Shabbat in the most beautiful shul we've ever seen. We were intrigued by the unfamiliar tunes blasting from the shul's incredible acoustics. We then had an inspiring Shabbat dinner in the restaurant and finished it off with an amazing Shabbat singing. The next morning we returned to the Great Synagogue and then after lunch went back to the hotel for a long Shabbos napping session. Then we had an incredible "ask the Rabbi" session where the kids asked Rabbi Lashak the most insightul questions. We were all so impressed by the level of depth and sophistication in their questions. At around 8 pm, we departed the hotel for a truly magnificent tour of the city of Rome. We saw the ancient Capitol building and the senate. We passed by Napoleon's monument and saw the glorious Trevi fountain. After speding time shmoozing on the Spanish steps, we went for dinner and finished the day back at the hotel. Today we go to Naples and Pompeii. Stay tuned for more adventures.
