Day 17: Water, water, water!

Today was one of the most fun days we've had so far. We spent practically the whole day in the water, which was a welcomed escape from the heat. First we did a small water walk, and after that we did an hour long water hike at the Hatzbani River--a source of the Jordan River. This hike was especially refreshing because we not only walked by the river, but THROUGH it! When we were not in the water, we were shaded by the many trees surrounding the river. It was such a beautiful and relaxing hike. After the water hike, we got to do the activity many of us have been waiting for: water rafting through the Jordan River. We broke into groups of 2-6 and either kayaked or rafted through the white water rapids. We went on the long course which took about an hour to complete. Each raft/kayak got two oars, but that didn't stop us from bumping into the walls of the river and sometimes into each other's rafts! At times, it was like bumper cars for rafts. It was so much fun! When we completed the course, we went back to the hotel and had a little bit of free time before ending the day off with dinner and advisor shiurim.
