We love Israel!
Yesterday was another fantastic day on our ever successful program!
While the two buses engaged in seperate activities, both buses particpated in fun packed days of touring and chessed. Bus one eagerly rolled up their sleeves as they painted an assisted living facility. They had lots of fun getting dirty and doing chessed all at once! The bus then rolled on over to their second chessed of the day- Chames, an organization which services children with special needs! The girls sang and danced with joy and laughter as they touched the hearts of many.
Bus 2's day was an exciting adventure in bringing our Jewish traditions alive. The girls first visited Tel Shilo (on a bullet proof bus) where the Mishkan once stood 2000 years ago and participated in an archeological dig in which they helped clean and discover broken pottery filled with stories from centuries ago. From there the girls headed down to a winery where they learned about the wine of the land and the importance of living in Israel as well as participated in an exciting virtual Israel- trivia show.
After returning to our home in Mevaseret, the girls participated in an educational learning program about the importance of Israel. Our advisors acted out different hardships throughout Jewish histrory emphasizing the Jewish dream to live in Israel, including the Spanish Inquiisition, Blood Libel and the Holocaust and ending with the capturing of the State of Israel.
A fantastic time was had by all!
We look forward to telling you about our newest adventures!!
