Dear Parents,

This was an amazing week here in camp and I cannot wait to tell you a little of what happened in hot Baltimore . This past Shabbos we danced and sang Friday displaying the joy we felt in Shabbos arriving. We were joined by Ari Kahn esq. a former camper and a member of our board. He shared Torah thoughts and many old camp stories with the NCSYers at our Friday night oneg. Shabbos day we had some great spirit as well as some much needed rest. After Shabbos we went bowling to help work off that Shabbos nap.

On Sunday we resumed sports. Although the teams are fighting neck and neck for playoff spots, they are still displaying great sportsmanship. I am very impressed with all the NCSYers and their great behavior, I know this all comes from the way you raised them, so Thank You!

Monday we had torrential rain in Baltimore but that didn’t stop us since we had a trip to the Minor League Baseball Hagerstown Suns. What almost did stop us was the last minute time change of the game. A big thanks to modern technology and Noah Rosenberg who checked on his phone the night before and told us the time of the game was changed from 7:05 to 3:05. Apparently the lights broke and they could not get replacement parts in time. So we headed out early and since it was a “Suns” game it did not rain in Hagerstown. After a fun game (especially with the entertainment between innings) we had postgame tailgate bbq and headed home with all the campers and about 30 baseballs we caught during the game.

Tuesday was back to leagues and then Wednesday we once again went on a trip. This time it was to Revolution Paintball. Everyone had a great time, all in the name of fun, which culminated in the annual camper versus counselor game. Congratulations to the counselors for holding the castle and coming outt victorious. We ended the day with ……. You guessed it…… a bbq while we watched 3 on 3 speedball games.

Thursday night we had a great time playing sports and having our last late night mishmar learning program. The highlight of the raffle was Joe Spector winning the raffle for the equalizer t-shirt. This is his 3rd year in camp and it would have been his 12th raffle without a prize, but thank G-d that streak was broken. The surprise of the night was a hot dog BBQ, with hot dogs shipped all the way from Roumanian Deli in Chicago. This is one of the best kosher meat establishments in the world and the dogs tasted great. I want to thank Eitan Tannenbaum’s dad for sending us the hot dogs. I cannot fully describe how great they tasted, but if you want to try them and other meats I highly suggest you order them shipped to your house.

The website to get them delivered is www.deliatyourdoor.com . ENJOY!

Today is a red alert heat day so we will shorten sports and then get ready for Shabbos.

I am sure you are looking forward to your sons return on Wednesday and we will miss him. We will make sure these last days are great so they will have great memories until we start again next summer. The bus back to NJ and NY will leave camp at about noon and we expect it to arrive at the New Jersey NCSY office at 3:15 and the New York NCSY office at 4:15. If your son is travelling by plane `we will be taking them to the airport 2 hours before their flight leaves. If you are picking up your son the best time for pick up is around noon

I hope you have a wonderful Shabbos. I know this last Shabbos in camp will be amazing and may we all merit to join together next Shabbos in Yerushalayim.

Thank you for trusting us with your son this summer.
